MEMBERSHIP

Membership in the AIA provides a resource for professional and personal enrichment; a means for architects and design professionals to collectively create an enhanced level of professional worth.
The Palm Beach Chapter provides member services for Architects, Associates, Emeritus and Professional Affiliates. In addition to the benefits of membership on the National level, AIA Palm Beach provides an excellent program of member opportunities for each member category. Architects and Associates must maintain membership on three tiers:
National, State and Local levels of AIA.

 

ARCHITECT

 

Definition of an Architect:
Currently licensed to practice architecture in a U.S. State or Territory. Proof of current license must be furnished along with application and dues payment.

ASSOCIATE

 

Definition of an Associate:
Not licensed to practice architecture but working under the supervision of an architect in a professional or technical capacity, participating in career responsibilities recognized by licensing authorities as constituting credit toward licensure (i.e. interns); are a faculty member in a university program in architecture; or hold a professional degree in architecture.

PROFESSIONAL AFFILIATE

 

Definition of Professional Affiliate:
Not an architect, but works in a related industry field that benefits from contact with those in the architectural profession and provides value to the architects as well through the networking opportunities available to each.

Corporate Affiliate Members: For building industry firms (consultants, engineers, developers, contractors, interior designers, landscape architects, attorneys, manufacturers, vendors and other firms/companies) with an interest in working more closely with architects and enhancing architects’ awareness of their of their products, services and materials. This is a firm membership and includes up to six Professional Affiliate Memberships.

Professional Affiliate Membership: For individual professionals (other than architects and architecture graduates) who wish to share ideas, to grow professionally and to enrich their careers and their firms through participation in the Palm Beach Chapter.
